The funding package, structured as a leveraged loan, would be used in part to buy back a stake held by private equity firm General Atlantic. Bloomberg reported that approximately US$346 million would go toward the equity repurchase, with the remaining funds allocated to refinancing existing debt obligations.
The move would mark a significant shift for the Tory Burch business, which has been backed by General Atlantic since 2012. Modaes noted that the broader US$700 million package reflects both the cost of the buyback and the refinancing of existing liabilities, highlighting the dual purpose of the transaction.
If completed, the deal would return majority control of the company to its founder, consolidating ownership after more than a decade of external investment.
