The seminar, titled “The new legal framework of the EU anti-deforestation regulation (EUDR): update on requirements, procedures and supporting tools for bovine leather supply chains”, will take place on Thursday February 12, from 2.30pm to 4.00pm, in the Gemini Room on the ground floor of the Service Centre, Rho Fieramilano.

The event follows the official publication on December 19 of Regulation (EU) No. 2650/2025, which significantly amends Regulation (EU) No. 1115/2023. The revised regulation postpones the application of EUDR requirements to between late December 2026 and mid-2027. Despite extensive debate over recent months among EU institutions and industry stakeholders, bovine hides and leather remain within the scope of the EUDR. However, the recent amendments introduce substantial changes to compliance procedures, with direct implications for operators across leather supply chains.

During the seminar, UNIC and invited speakers will outline the key regulatory updates, examine their practical impact on leather companies, and present the latest developments of the Hides Eco Track digital platform, which has been developed by UNIC in collaboration with Lineapelle to support EUDR compliance for operators in the bovine hides and skins sector.

The programme will feature a welcome and introduction by Luca Boltri, Deputy Director of UNIC, followed by an update on the EUDR policy framework and possible future developments from Gustavo Gonzalez Quijano, Secretary General of Cotance. An overview of EUDR implementation procedures will then be provided by G.P Geminiani, Legal Consultant at UNIC, before G. Martin from UNIC’s Economic Department presents the Hides Eco Track platform and other supporting tools for EUDR management in the bovine hides and skins supply chain. The session will conclude with a Q&A.

The seminar will be held in Italian, with simultaneous English interpretation. Admission is free of charge, subject to prior registration.
