Updated U.S hide and skin trading standards

By attending several global meetings it became obvious that tanners are looking for more transparency, together with an improved definition of their raw materials. The historic wisdom that hides are a by-product and therefore are immune to controls or specifications is no longer satisfactory. The U.S Hide, Skin and Leather Association (USHSLA) is taking a proactive approach in better understanding these issues and working with the industry to address these challenges.
