CEO Donnie King informed employees of the cuts last week, which come as the company struggles with declining profits.
He said: “We will drive efficiency by focusing on fewer initiatives with greater intensity and removing duplication of work.”
Roles to be eliminated in senior leadership are reportedly mostly Vice Presidents and Senior Vice Presidents.
A lot of Tyson’s issues come down to its chicken business, announcing in March that it would close two U.S. processing plants with around 1,700 employees.
