The innovation was revealed during a workshop on the Digital Traceability Tool and the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) in Lahore, Pakistan, highlighting the growing role of technology in strengthening supply chain transparency.
Developed through a pilot of the digital traceability tool, which is the first of its kind in Pakistan, the jacket allows users to track a product’s full journey from raw material to finished item. The system provides detailed insights into sourcing, processing, responsible production and alignment with global regulatory requirements, including the EUDR.
The SMEP Project’s digital tool represents a significant step forward for Pakistan’s manufacturers, exporters and wider supply chain stakeholders, supporting the shift toward more transparent, sustainable and globally compliant practices.
