In his closing remarks, Professor Bi Shi, President of the 37th IULTCS Congress Scientific Committee and Academic at Sichuan University’s Chinese Academy of Engineering, said that delegates watched 62 oral and 95 poster presentations over the three-days, dedicated to enhancing leather science and technology.

He thanked the speakers, organising committee and the sponsors for their support in making the event truly memorable: “I think we can all agree that during the event we have been guided by the overall theme of ‘innovations to make leather irreplaceable’ and provided an invaluable opportunity for scientific and industrial professionals from various parts of the world to foster effective collaboration in the future through the various networking and social events.”

Delegates remarked on how well organised the congress had been by the China Leather Industry Association (CLIA) and Sichuan University College of Biomass Science and Engineering. The social programme featured spectacular Sichuan gastronomy and visual cultural entertainment on both October 18 and 19 and the audio/visual and hotel conference facilities were excellent and guided by a large and well-coordinated team.
